GROWTESQUE
In a post-capitalist era that responds to the threat of a warming climate with growth-minded solutions, what does it look like when we envision coexistence, kinship, and regeneration as the more sensible evolution? And how does the act of imagination bring this future to life?
GROWTESQUE brings together artists who explore alternative futures and interrogate myths of perpetual progress and domination over nature. They ask: What does it mean to flourish without consuming the world? How do we imagine our place within the web of life? What does unbridled expansion look like within the constraints of bodies, organisms, nature and society?

The act of imagination is the foundation of reality — If we can dream it, it can exist.
GROWTESQUE will open in September 2025 during Climate Week in New York City. This month-long group exhibition focuses on artists in varied stages of their careers who respond to these questions, alongside a schedule of thematic programming that brings together academics, artists, entrepreneurs, and sustainability experts. A full list of participating artists and speakers will be announced in June 2025.
